Office & Appointments
We recommend masking for patients with any respiratory type symptoms who visit the office. For asymptomatic patients, masks are optional. We still offer a blend of appointments by phone and in the office for vaccinated and unvaccinated patients.
To facilitate phone appointments we ask that you consider preparing by measuring blood pressure, blood sugar and weight at home if appropriate. Also check medication supply and details. We are also able to fax prescriptions directly to your pharmacy. Imaging, laboratory and other forms can be sent via email or fax. We can also accept e-transfer as payment for third party services (see FAQ’s).
COVID-19 Vaccine
I do recommend the Covid-19 vaccine for the vast majority of my patients and for all ages that have currently been approved for the vaccine. I also recommend booster doses at the timeline recommended by public health.
We are not offering Covid-19 vaccines at the office and recommend that vaccines are accessed through community pharmacies.
Safety
My ongoing suggestions for the prevention of respiratory illness is that you continue to use the different layers of protection against the common viruses. This includes:
- A healthy lifestyle
- Covid-19 vaccine and Influenza vaccine
- Wearing masks in high risk situations or if you have any symptoms
- Practicing hand hygiene
- Avoiding crowded high risk areas
- Following public health guidelines
No single layer of protection on its own is sufficient, but utilizing all these layers together, gives us the safest way to move forward while enjoying most of the activities that we would like to participate in.
